The National Capital Authority has quietly brought in some new fees for some of Canberra’s most popular outdoor wedding venues.  Sadly they didn’t do any public consultation and even worse, they haven’t advertised the changes that were introduced in July 2018.

Couples have been discovering the new fees when they have attempted to book a park for their wedding.

There is some confusion about how much has to be paid.  It seems that the use of some of the NCA’s parks will incur a booking fee of $50 as long as you don’t wish to erect anything.  If you do, the fee goes into the thousands!   Unfortunately no where on their website does it define what a structure is.  Is it a small arbour, is it a table and a few chairs.
